ValistixAuditBot, explained.
If you saw ValistixAuditBot in your server logs, someone requested a free online-presence audit of your website at valistix.com. This page says exactly what the bot does, and how to keep it off your site.
How to keep it off your site
Add a robots.txt rule and the bot will read it before anything else. A disallow for ValistixAuditBot, or for all agents (the two lines "User-agent: *" and "Disallow: /"), stops the on-page checks. The audit then says the site asked not to be read, and uses what Google shows instead.
Or email hello@valistix.com with your domain and we add it to our exclusion list. A person confirms by email within one business day.
Google PageSpeed Insights still measures speed when someone requests an audit, because that is Google's fetch, not ours.
Questions site owners ask
Did Valistix crawl my whole site?
No. The homepage and one contact page, once, when a person requested an audit. There is no crawl schedule.
Who requested the audit?
We keep that private, the same way we would for you. Anyone can request an audit of a public website; the report describes public information and does not imply the requester owns the business.
Does the bot store my pages?
No. It keeps derived facts (for example, that a tappable phone number exists at the top of the page), never the HTML, and never for longer than 90 days.
How do I get a copy of the audit of my own business?
Run one yourself at valistix.com/free-audit. It takes about two minutes and the written review is emailed to you.
Want the audit for your own business?
Score your website, Google listing, reviews and follow-up in about two minutes, free. Then book 15 to 30 minutes to walk the fixes.
- We build a receptionist that answers with your business name. You dial it from your own phone and hear it book a job.
- We search for your business the way a customer would and show you who's above you.
- You get the written list, whether or not you hire us.
